Hi all,
we made it to Thailand! After our 12hour flight we got into Bangkok airport around 10.30pm and the complete chaos of Bangkok, straight onto a taxi to sample a 130Kph ride through the centre of Bangkok to out guest house. Bangkok was great and I can't wait to go back, it's a highly controlled chaos! The first day there was the kings sixtieth anniversary so a lot of the temples we visited were free. When we go back I'm going to do a lot more walking around, everywhere you turn someone has squeezed a shop/apartment/food stall into the smallest of spaces and alleyways so at every turn you see something different.
We left Bangkok two days ago to come down to Koh Chang island, right down the south of Thailand. I would say about 10-15 years ago it would have been very beautifully, but now with the governments support it is being fully developed and becoming super polluted. Yesterday we hired a scooter and went to the south of the island and found some beautifully white sand beaches, it was complete bliss. We're going to move down to this end of the island tomorrow. The temperature's sitting at about 35 degrees and humidity is off the scale.
